Bayou Lafourche Folklife and Heritage Museum

Bayou Lafourche Folklife and Heritage Museum was founded in 1994 with the mission to preserve and teach the history of the Bayou Lafourche Region. Its permanent exhibit is titled “Bayou Excursion: 1910.” The museum is located at 100 Main Street, Lockport, in the former Merchants and Planters Bank, c. 1910. It was donated by Entergy, Inc. and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
